Job Summary
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on diesel-powered construction equipment, including compact track loaders. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and filters, then repair or replace engines and hydraulic systems. Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot problems, test equipment after repairs, and maintain accurate service records. Inspect machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation while following all safety regulations. Communicate with supervisors and operators regarding equipment status. This shop and field-based role in Omaha, NE, requires lifting 50+ lbs and working outdoors in various conditions. Overtime, weekends, or on-call work may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience with diesel engines and heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in tight spaces
Desired Qualifications
- Technical training
- Experience with brands such as Caterpillar, John Deere, Kubota, or Takeuchi
- Extensive experience with compact track loaders
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
