Job Summary
Construction Engineer sought to support the Master Plan for a large healthcare campus with on-site duties in San Francisco. Responsibilities include developing the facility master plan, providing engineering and technical oversight for infrastructure, renovation, and capital improvement projects, preparing scopes of work and technical documentation, performing design reviews across architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and civil disciplines, coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and facility personnel, preparing conceptual layouts and feasibility studies, reviewing drawings and reports for accuracy and constructability, conducting site assessments and inspections, monitoring construction activities for quality and safety, acting as construction representative for assigned projects, assisting with scheduling and budgeting, and providing technical recommendations on building systems and healthcare facility operations. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ABET) or Architecture with AIA qualifications, Real ID, and experience in facility-related projects; PE/RA is helpful but not required. This is a full-time, on-site role with benefits and federal holiday and PTO accruals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program OR degree in Architecture with professional qualifications recognized by AIA standards.
- Possession of a valid Real ID as a requirement for this position.
- Experience supporting facility engineering, design review, construction administration, or capital improvement projects in commercial, institutional, healthcare, or large campus environments, preferred.
- Knowledge of building systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines.
- Experience developing project requirements, scopes of work, and technical specifications.
- Ability to review construction drawings, engineering calculations, specifications, and design documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, life safety standards, healthcare facility requirements, and industry best practices.
- Experience supporting renovation, infrastructure modernization, or master planning initiatives preferred.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while meeting schedules and operational priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, facility staff, and leadership teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and industry-standard design and project management software.
- Ability to conduct field inspections, site visits, and construction observations in active healthcare environments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work full-time onsite in support of facility engineering and construction operations.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and a thorough background check for access onto a military installation.
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or Registered Architect (RA) license is helpful but not required
