Job Summary
Construction Engineer II EPC (Civil/Structural) provides technical engineering information to supervision and crafts to ensure Civil, Concrete & Structural Steel work complies with engineering standards, codes, and specifications. Responsibilities include managing one or more technical disciplines related to Civil, Concrete, or Structural Steel within a medium-sized operation or project; ensuring technical quality; coordinating drawings and specifications through field document control; managing RFIs and submittals; preparing Scopes of Work (SOW) for subcontractors and suppliers; evaluating change orders; coordinating with subcontractors and vendors; assisting in turnover packages and mechanical completion punch lists; supporting QA/QC, Supply Chain, Subcontracts, HSE, and Project Controls; and participating in project scope definition and lessons learned.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering required
- MS degree preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desirable
- 5+ years related engineering experience
- Strong skill set in understanding PFDs and P&IDs; 3D and 2D routing, equipment and piping specifications, and development of isometric drawings is required
- Knowledge of API, AWS and ACI standards, industry practices and ASME Section VIII is strongly preferred
- Ability to understand client specifications, procurement, commissioning and start-up standards, documentation, practices, vendor data approvals, etc.
- Experience using standard computer programs
- Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera is preferred
