Job Summary
Construction Engineer II supports Baxter & Woodman’s construction group on diverse projects (roadways, bridges, underground installation, infrastructure) with on-site observation, coordination with clients/inspectors/contractors, and project design assistance. Responsibilities include maintaining daily logs and reports, reviewing pay requests, liaising with contractors and public agencies, observing and documenting construction activities, and contributing to detailed designs as workload permits. Requires a B.S. in Civil or Construction Engineering, 3+ years of progressive construction engineering experience, proficiency with relevant project management software (e.g., IDOT/Tollway programs), ability to travel within the service area, and strong written/verbal/organizational skills. E.I.T certification is preferred. The role supports flexible work arrangements including the option to work from home for eligible positions, and offers a compensation range of $83,000 to $100,000 per year.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Civil or Construction Engineering
- 3+ years of progressive experience in consultant construction engineering
- Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation)
- Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills
