Job Summary
Construction Director responsible for leading all construction activities for urban transit projects in Canada within a collaborative delivery model, developing and governing the Construction Management Plan, ensuring safety, cost, schedule, and quality outcomes, mobilization and field organization across geographic zones, leading constructability during design development, managing interfaces between civil/structural works and systems installation, driving Lean construction practices (Last Planner System, pull planning), coordinating with commercial and project controls to align field execution with cost forecasts, production tracking, and gainshare/painshare outcomes, and maintaining transparent client/partner communications while supporting phased completion and handover to achieve integrated system delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of construction leadership experience on major infrastructure projects
- 5+ years in a senior role (Construction Director or equivalent) on projects exceeding $500M
- Experience with collaborative delivery models (Alliance, Progressive DB, CMGC, P3/DB)
- Deep expertise in means & methods including underground works, stations, guideway, utilities
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and trade packages across large field organizations
- Strong understanding of cost drivers, production-based forecasting, and sequencing/productivity impact
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline; P.Eng., PMP, or equivalent considered an asset
