Job Summary
The Construction Crew Lead at Morton Buildings assists the Crew Foreman in executing quality building projects and ensuring a positive construction experience for customers. This role involves applying safety and construction procedures, reading blueprints, providing leadership to crew members, and maintaining an organized and productive workplace. Candidates must have a minimum of three years' experience in building construction, hold or be able to obtain a Class A CDL license, and have a desire to obtain safety certifications. The position requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in physically demanding environments, and a commitment to safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in building construction
- Applicant must hold a Class A CDL license or be able to obtain one within 6 months
- Desire to obtain OSHA 10-hour, Equipment Operation and Competent Person Certifications
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and provide leadership
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills
- Ability to measure human productivity and improve effectiveness
- Willingness to maintain and operate construction tools safely
- Standard weight lifting requirements - 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds
- Capable of working in a physically demanding environment
- Possess good communication skills - both written and verbal
Desired Qualifications
- Carpentry experience
- Framing experience
- Post-frame construction experience
- OSHA 10-hour certification
Additional Requirements
- Agreement to comply with all safety processes and procedures
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including Saturdays
- 20% travel which could include overnight travel possibly up to two weeks
