Job Summary

Coordinate assigned construction projects and related activities for the Muscogee County School District, ensuring compliance with specifications and established guidelines. Consult with the Director of Construction on policies, procedures, and actions regarding construction programs. Direct project support staff, including construction managers and engineers, to ensure projects complete on time and within budget. Evaluate potential sites and existing facility conditions to determine renovation requirements, while monitoring costs, schedules, and budgets. Observe all aspects of construction, including electrical, roofing, and concrete, to verify plan compliance. Oversee preparation of written materials such as contracts, memos, and bid invitations, and develop specifications for renovation and modification projects. Respond to inquiries from administrative staff, inspectors, contractors, and the public, and review construction-related information for record completeness. Requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering, a valid driver's license, and experience in GA K-12 construction.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of Associate's degree and/or certifications in construction management, project management, engineering and/or architecture
Valid Driver's License
Knowledge of pertinent codes, policies, regulations and/or laws
Knowledge of construction process, including role of architect, reading of plans and specifications, and basic building systems
Knowledge of algebra and/or geometry
Ability to develop and administer budgets
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to plan and manage multiple projects
Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
