Job Summary
Conduct field assessments for building assessments, repairs, renovations, and new construction projects, including work from ladders, lifts, scaffolding, rooftops, and confined spaces. Provide technical expertise for commercial, residential, and industrial buildings by reading construction drawings, reviewing product submittals, and researching local and state building codes. Support project strategy, budgeting, and billing while evaluating construction change orders to recommend resolutions. Write tailored reports for specific clientele and communicate persuasively with clients at all levels. Work independently with good judgment and critical thinking skills, collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders. Perform 60% in-office duties with 30% field time and 10% overnight travel.
Required Qualifications
- Construction field engineer or assistant project management experience
- Building Inspection experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft office software
- Good report writing skills
- Verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact and communicate with clients at all levels
- Ability to work independently with good judgment and critical thinking skills
- Familiarity with general construction principles and processes
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders
- B.S. in architecture, engineering, building science, construction management or other construction-related degree
- 3-5 years of experience as a professional in the construction of ground-up developments, renovations, retrofit or fit out of buildings
- Engineer-in-training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) designations
- 10% Overnight travel
- 60% In office

- Ability to stand, sit, climb ladders, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and drive a motor vehicle to job sites
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Clear vision and depth perception
- Ability to comply with overtime requirements
