Job Summary
Study blueprints and sketches to prepare project layouts and determine material dimensions. Shape and cut materials to specified measurements using hand tools, power saws, and concrete saws. Measure cutting lines with rulers and marking gauges, then verify structural trueness with plumb bobs and levels. Assemble cut materials and fasten them with nails, dowel pins, or glue while maintaining a safe, clean environment. Rig and hoist materials, tolerate heights, and work in extreme weather conditions. Work long, irregular hours totaling 50 to 70 per week.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess competence in the following areas in order to perform his/her role in a safe, productive and effective manner
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Must be able to exert heavy physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb or crawl
- Must be able to correctly rig and hoist material
- Must be able to tolerate heights without fear
- Must be able to maintain balance
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time, reach for, handle, and manipulate items and to work in extreme weather conditions (cold and wet)
- Must be able to work long, irregular and varied hours, 50 to 70 hours per week
- Must be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to safely and effectively perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
