Construction Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

Review bid boards and prepare submittals including work plans, mix designs, and pre-qualification forms. Lead negotiations with low bidders and attend pre-bid meetings. Manage won projects by scheduling crews, approving time entries, preparing construction schedules, and ordering materials. Conduct field visits for progress checks and safety inspections, while reviewing daily logs and vendor invoices. Monitor budgets to ensure project profitability and control costs. Assist branch managers with administrative duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or Geology
  • 1-2 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Project Management (Specialty/General Contractor or Earthwork sub-contractor)
  • Experience managing construction projects of varying size ($50,000 - $1,500,000)
  • Experience estimating, specifically determining materials quantities, labor, and equipment requirements for various types of geotechnical/construction projects
  • Experience with geotechnical drilling, sheeting/shoring, pressure grouting, or deep foundations
  • Some Business Development experience
  • Must be able to interact/communicate with clients
  • Experience managing construction projects and crews

Desired Qualifications

  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Project Management (Specialty/General Contractor or Earthwork sub-contractor)
  • Experience with geotechnical drilling, sheeting/shoring, pressure grouting, or deep foundations is preferred
  • Some Business Development experience is a plus
  • Experience managing construction projects and crews is a plus
