Job Summary
Construction Administrator with a background in mechanical or electrical systems and strong project management coordinates construction activities on site in the Ottawa region, collaborating with engineers, contractors, and trades to ensure work is delivered in accordance with plans, specifications, schedules, and contract requirements. Responsibilities include site visits, site reports and instructions, preparing as-built drawings from drawings, monitoring progress, attending site meetings, interpreting drawings and specifications, and analyzing/negotiating change orders. Requires technical education and at least 7 years of relevant experience, with Ontario codes knowledge; strong communication in English (French is an asset); proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; and teamwork in multidisciplinary environments. The role emphasizes hands-on on-site work with a hybrid-friendly environment and a focus on quality and collaboration, within Canada’s Ontario region and Ottawa offices.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, with knowledge of applicable Ontario codes and standards.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, and access to a vehicle.
- Excellent communications skills in English, verbal and written. French is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Versatility, autonomy and proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong skills in report writing and experience working in multidisciplinary teams
- High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
