Job Summary
As a Construction Administrator, you will support coordination and monitoring of medium- to large-scale construction work related to mechanical and/or electrical systems in Ottawa, ensuring work aligns with drawings, specifications, and contract requirements. The role involves managing contractor submittals, conducting site visits, preparing site notes, tracking schedules, coordinating with engineers and trades, reviewing progress, and assisting with change orders and as-built documentation. Ideal candidates hold a diploma in building systems or related fields and have 1-2 years of construction/coordinator experience, with strong communication, organization, and proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Ontario codes is a plus. The position offers a hybrid work policy, a 37.5-hour week, and an hourly wage range of $26-$46, with compensation determined by experience and location.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, building systems, or related field
- 1-2 years of relevant construction/site-monitoring/contract-administration/building-systems experience
- Knowledge of Ontario codes and standards related to building mechanical/electrical systems (or willingness to learn)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Strong English communication skills (French is an asset)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to prepare clear site notes/reports/follow-up documentation
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Experience with Sharepoint/Autodesk is an asset
