Job Summary
The Constructability Detailer is responsible for reviewing electrical construction documents and developing detailed installation drawings to support efficient and accurate field execution. Key responsibilities include ensuring designs are constructible, coordinated, and aligned with field conditions; resolving constructability issues; and collaborating with BIM/VDC, Engineering, and Project Management teams. The role requires 1-3 years of relevant experience and an understanding of electrical construction methods, as well as proficiency in software tools like AutoCAD and Revit. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Drafting, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered
- 1-3 years of experience in electrical construction, detailing, BIM/VDC, or field operations
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, installation sequencing, and best practices
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, and coordination models
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential constructability issues
- Ability to work collaboratively with field teams, engineers, and project managers
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical installation standards
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting data center, mission critical, or large commercial/industrial electrical projects preferred
- Proficiency with detailing and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools preferred
- Field experience as an electrician or field engineer is a strong plus
