Job Summary
Create and maintain database records for Constituent Services program statistics. Respond verbally and in writing to facility-level requests for secure, accurate information regarding the custody population. Maintain working relations with staff and the public while assisting in collecting, compiling, and reviewing statistical data. Prepare administrative reports, studies, and special research projects. Monitor operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Work with program staff to determine trends, resolve technical problems, and recommend activities for program effectiveness. Provide technical assistance to staff and the public. Participate in visitation, advocacy organization meetings, and other events as requested. This full-time role involves moderate supervision from facility leadership and a state-wide coordinator. Applicants must possess a valid Alabama driver's license, and the position requires some travel that may include overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED
- Three years full-time, professional experience in case processing, customer service, clerical, administrative support, technical program support, or operational support experience
- Valid Alabama driver's license at the time of appointment
- Bachelor's degree in any major
- Coursework in Psychology, Counseling, and/or Social Work
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite
- Skills to interpret and apply policies and procedures accurately
- Skills to prepare and maintain accurate records, files, and reports
- Self-motivated
- Ability to exercise independent judgment based on training and direction provided by departmental policies
- Experience learning new technology
- Some travel which may require overnight stays
