Job Summary
K-8th Grade Music Teacher in Cleveland delivers engaging music instruction, prepares and delivers lesson plans with adjustments as needed, differentiates instruction to meet diverse student needs, maintains accurate progress records, applies research-based practices, manages classroom behavior, creates a positive learning environment, uses school-approved curricula reflecting diverse backgrounds, implements school-wide culture norms, communicates with families regarding academic and social-emotional growth, integrates technology into daily practice, participates in planning of non-instructional activities, collaborates with colleagues, and performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in appropriate content area
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field
- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to properly manage confidential information
- Able to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
- Experience working within an urban environment
