Job Summary
Constable to provide a safe, recovery-focused environment using a recovery coaching approach for individuals with mental health and substance use challenges. Duties include applying No Force First non-violent verbal de-escalation, providing safe transport as directed, ensuring safety and security within the facility, and offering direct support to involuntary guests during evaluation. Responsibilities also cover documentation, staying current with federal/state regulations and internal policies, cross-functional collaboration to secure personal items, and performing other related duties. The role requires completing Peer Employment Training and obtaining Constable Academy Certification, with potential travel as needed, a night-shift schedule (7:00 PM–7:30 AM), and a benefits package including health/dental/vision, retirement plan with company matching, paid time off, and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of Peer Employment Training thus obtaining Certification as a Peer Support Specialist
- Constable Academy Certification
- Prior law enforcement experience within the last five (5) years or prior employment as a Constable
- Minimum of two (2) years of behavioral health experience, crisis environment preferred
- Must meet and pass the minimum training and experience standards established by the Board of Examiners of Constables
- Knowledge of all applicable code governing the power, duties and jurisdiction of a Constable
- Knowledge of Title 16, 24-hour hold process
- Ability to problem solve
- Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements
- Driving Requirements: If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy
- If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed
- Must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement
- Travel required based on business need
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism

- Must be able to pass substance abuse testing and/or tuberculous testing (if applicable)
- Must be able to obtain designated fingerprinting clearance in applicable states
- Must be able to pass education verification check
- Must be able to pass three-year motor vehicle report and meet minimum eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier (if driving is required for this position)
- A Direct Service Competency Checklist must be completed as part of the new hire onboarding process
