Job Summary
Entry-level Consolidated Maintenance Worker I responsible for facility custodial tasks, general maintenance, painting, flooring, and grounds upkeep across City facilities, parks, and streets. Tasks include trash pickup, sweeping, moving furniture, light electrical/plumbing assistance, custodial equipment upkeep, on-call for emergencies, and assisting with irrigation, herbicide/pesticide applications, and painting crosswalks/lines. Requires basic maintenance knowledge, ability to operate hand/power tools, read/write simple records, and lift up to 100 pounds. Must possess a California driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent. Advancement potential to Consolidated Maintenance Worker II based on performance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- One (1) year of general maintenance experience related to the area of assignment is desirable
- Possession of a valid Class “C” California driver’s license
- An equivalent combination of education and experience
