Job Summary
Install and rig helm consoles on newly manufactured boats, including mounting consoles, wiring electronics, and integrating steering and control systems. Route and secure wiring harnesses, connect gauges and displays, perform operational testing of steering and electrical systems, and collaborate with electrical, plumbing, and engine rigging teams to ensure proper system integration. Maintain fit, finish, and safety in the helm area with attention to quality workmanship in a production boat-manufacturing setting. Marine experience is preferred but training is available for motivated individuals with strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a focus on craftsmanship.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or marine systems training preferred
- Experience installing boat consoles or helm systems in manufacturing or marine service environments strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of marine wiring standards (ABYC knowledge is a plus)
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to stand, kneel, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs in a production setting
- Team-oriented with strong communication and organizational skills
