Job Summary
Oversee the Wyoming Outdoor Council’s policy and advocacy on public lands, wildlife, and water across Wyoming. Supervise the Conservation Team of three staff, work with the deputy director and program directors to craft annual work plans and campaign plans, and provide mentorship to team members. Draft scientifically grounded, factually accurate comments on projects, policies, and proposals; serve as a spokesperson for the organization; travel in-state to events and meetings; collaborate with partner organizations and multiple stakeholders, including Tribal and federal/state agencies. Drive outcomes aligned with the strategic plan, coordinate with other program directors, and support equity and belonging work. The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, effective communication, and the ability to engage diverse communities across Wyoming, with regular travel to Lander and other locations in-state.
Required Qualifications
- Five years experience in conservation policy (preferred)
- Three years of management/supervisory experience (preferred)
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Willingness to travel in-state and to Lander as needed
