Job Summary
Engineering Manager Leader for Caterpillar’s Connectivity System Solution Division, guiding people leaders and providing both people and technical leadership to project leads in India and China. Responsible for developing system requirements, designing connectivity systems and ensuring alignment between software and system requirements to meet business partner and customer needs. Activities include managing staff and programs, improving product and process performance, and coordinating with Cat Technology, Digital Tech, IMS, and product groups to deliver high-quality connectivity systems and solutions. Top candidates will have strong background in embedded systems, IoT solution design and deployment, cloud technologies, and proven leadership, with travel up to 20% and experience in cross-country collaboration (India & China). Notable responsibilities include mentoring SMEs in China & India, prioritizing features with CI/RI tech forums, and ensuring formal documentation of requirements across marketing, functional, system, software, and hardware domains.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s or Master\’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven system and architecture experience in automotive and related industry
- Proven team leadership experience
- Experience with embedded systems, firmware development, cloud technologies (API, AWS/Azure), and networking protocols
- Ability to design end-to-end IoT solutions meeting customer connectivity requirements
- Experience with Product Introduction (NPI), CPI and NTI processes
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to influence across global teams
- Ability to mentor and grow teams across multiple countries (India & China)
- Experience collaborating with hardware, firmware, software, cloud and business stakeholders
