Job Summary
Floater overseeing the Home Delivered Meal Program across 19 sites in North Orange County. Responsibilities include receiving and delivering meals, serving meals to seniors, prepping and reheating meals, greeting participants and drivers, completing front desk duties and intake paperwork, supporting volunteers during lunch service, maintaining records and reports, and submitting daily communications as needed. The Site Floater visits assigned sites daily to support staff, seniors, and volunteers, with starting/ending locations varying by day. Mileage is reimbursed monthly. The role involves assisting with meal service, coordinating with staff and volunteers, documenting meals served, waste, donations, and volunteer hours, ensuring proper food handling and temperature controls, processing meal donations according to policy, following safety procedures, providing staff support in the absence of leadership, and participating in staff meetings and training. A desire to make a difference in the lives of seniors is emphasized.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- Some experience supervising and directing staff and/or volunteers
- Experience in food service program a strong plus
- Must be able to work well with a variety of groups including seniors, volunteers, staff, management, and outside agencies
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to read, interpret, and implement policy and procedure
- Must have own reliable transportation, valid California Driver’s license, and automobile insurance as required by State Law
- Bilingual a plus (Spanish)
- ServSafe Certification completed by employer within first 120 days of employment (paid for by employer)
