Job Summary
Residential Counselors at The Home for Little Wanderers support children aged 8-15 in a group home environment focusing on their transition back to families or independent living. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe and supportive environment, communicating with other staff for continuum of care, participating in verbal de-escalation and physical intervention, and engaging with children in community activities. Candidates must have a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and be physically active to meet job demands over 8-10 hour shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license required
- Passing the CORI/background check
Desired Qualifications
- Life experience with parenting and/or childcare preferred
- Ability to work evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts as required
