Configuration Engineer

Job Summary
Review NOC and S.O configurations for accuracy, create and submit Engineering Changes via Agile, and coordinate internal change orders under senior engineer guidance. Manage sales order BOMs, initiate ECO change management, and submit problem reports for BOM-related issues. Set up, manage, and revise customer product information including BOMs, part numbers, and AVLs to control assembly revisions. Validate customer document packages such as Assembly DWG and Manufacturing Instructions, uploading them to the Agile system. Resolve configuration issues with internal and external customers, acting as escalation support for moderate complexity problems. Lead department improvement projects to enhance performance, quality, and customer satisfaction while providing technical guidance to junior engineers.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering
- 5 to 8 years of related experience
- Strong knowledge of configuration management principles
- Strong knowledge of engineering change processes
- Strong knowledge of BOM structures
- Strong knowledge of document control practices
- Proficiency with PLM/ERP systems (e.g., Agile, SAP, or equivalent)
- Ability to independently manage moderately complex configuration activities and change implementations
- Ability to analyse configuration-related issues and recommend effective solutions
- Ability to assess downstream impacts of engineering changes across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and customer requirements
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills
- Ability to provide technical guidance, coaching, and peer review support to junior engineers
- Demonstrated capability to lead small to medium-sized process improvement initiatives
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across multiple functions and sites
