Job Summary
Conductor Trainee at BNSF Railway in Forsyth, MT. Trainees learn to manage train operations, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and contribute to efficient, safe freight movement. Key duties include obtaining, receiving, and acting on information; monitoring and reporting daily work; operating track switches and derails; inspecting trains and equipment per federal regulations; monitoring track conditions; and working in a safety-sensitive environment across diverse weather. Training is company-paid on-the-job and in classroom settings for up to 19 weeks, including travel to the training center in Overland Park, KS. Roles require on-call availability (24/7), travel as needed, and a three-year recall-related obligation for certain locations; relocation assistance is not provided. Union membership is required per agreement; pre-employment background check, medical review, and drug screening are required. Required Qualifications
- Able to work now and in the future without company assistance in obtaining employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN).
- At least 18 years of age by start date.
- Ability to report for duty at designated work location.

- Able to meet travel requirements.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.

- Ability to learn to identify, interpret and use hand signals and visually judge speed/distance.
- Ability to distinguish colors and see at night and on computer displays.
