Job Summary
Conductor responsible for safe and efficient rail car switching on customer sites and terminals; operate switches and derails, perform locomotive inspections, complete daily reports/logs, and ensure safety and customer service in a team-based environment. Requires reading and understanding manuals and switching instructions, physical fitness to handle rail equipment, willingness to work up to 12-hour shifts day and night, and computer proficiency with daily use of applications. Assets include Grade 12/GED, prior rail or industrial operations experience, and a Class 5 driver’s license.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 or GED
- Previous industrial workplace or equipment operations experience an asset
- Previous rail experience is an asset
- Class 5 drivers license is an asset
- Ability to obtain and maintain required qualifications and safety critical medical clearances
- This includes passing customer and Cando drug and alcohol screening for pre-employment, post incident, and reasonable grounds testing
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
