Job Summary
Set up concrete forms, mix materials to specified ratios, and pour, spread, smooth, and finish concrete using shovels, trowels, and other power tools. Transport equipment, apply sealants and waterproofing, perform basic carpentry for formwork, and monitor curing procedures to prevent defects. Cut expansion joints, inspect finished work for code compliance, and repair imperfections or damage as directed. Maintain a clean jobsite, follow safety protocols, and collaborate with team members to complete projects on time. This role requires a high school diploma, two years of concrete construction experience, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Overtime and weekend work are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in concrete construction or a related field
- Proficiency with concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques
- Knowledge of concrete curing methods and standards
- Ability to operate concrete mixers, saws, drills, vibrators, and other power tools and heavy machinery
- Understanding of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background check if required by the employer
- REAL ID-compliant license (for some locations or clients)
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including regular and frequent walking; lifting, carrying, and/or moving up to 20 pounds; and occasionally reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
