Concrete Plant Batching Operative

Job Summary
Operate concrete batching plant to produce all types of ready-mix concrete safely and efficiently to specification. Load lorries, manage stock of raw materials (cement, sand, aggregates, admixtures), and schedule loads; liaise with central shipping and mixer haulage for deliveries and load sequencing. Maintain and calibrate plant, perform regular safety inspections, and ensure documentation, maintenance, and safety records (QSRMC standards). Assist in plant audits, inductions for subcontractors, and safe management of contractors; support planned maintenance, stock control procedures, and cost-effective purchasing following company procedures. Uphold health, safety and environmental procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement and operational readiness for each shift. 35 days annual leave, pension, life assurance, health/wellbeing programs, and career-progression opportunities are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Previous batching experience with wet mix and/or dry batch plants
- Experience batching concrete to concrete specifications and uses
- Knowledge of plant, tools, equipment and machinery maintenance procedures and inspections
- Experience with concrete mixer trucks
- Driving licence to fulfil duties
- Experience of stock control and ordering
