Job Summary
Follow management instructions to read job orders and interpret blueprints, then prepare concrete surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and repairing cracks before applying decorative materials. Mix and apply concrete stains, acids, and dyes according to specifications while securing proper safety measures including ventilation and personal protective equipment. Conduct custom painting tasks approved by management or architectural directives, and prepare weekly job progress reports for management. This role supports Applied Industrial Flooring Canada's mission to deliver safe, clean, and long-lasting industrial floors across Calgary.
Required Qualifications
- Secondary School Diploma
- At least 2 years of experience in concrete decorative painting, concrete natural stone staining, acid colouring and dyes
- Strong understanding of concrete staining techniques
- Experience in using different methods and equipment for concrete dyes solvent and water based
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, grade plans, maps, drawings and specifications
- Team player, client focused and adaptable to a variety of projects and environments
- Ability to handle heavy reasonable loads, as work is physically demanding
- Proficient knowledge of English
- Occasional shift and weekend work may be required
