Job Summary
Concrete Journeyman at Pepper Construction performing a range of on-site concrete duties. Responsibilities include setting up forms for edge of slab, sidewalks or walls; building forms; pouring concrete and raking to grade; grading and prepping subgrade; spreading and smoothing concrete; finishing touches with stains/colors; adding decorative materials; applying waterproofing and sealant; installing rebar and welded fabric; operating a skid loader; using a laser level; and ensuring finishes meet specs. Requires 4+ years in commercial construction, proficiency with industry tools, attention to detail, ability to work independently or in a team, and flexibility for overtime, weekends, and night shifts. OSHA 10 and operator’s certificate are preferred. Pepper Construction is an equal employment opportunity employer and does not sponsor work visas.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in commercial construction
- Proficient in the use of industry tools and equipment
- Up to date with the latest technology involving concrete work
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, with an ability to multi-task
- Task-oriented, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexible availability, including some overtime, weekends, and night shifts
- OSHA 10 (preferred)
- Operator's certificate (preferred)
- Able to lift at least 35 pounds, unassisted, and stand for extended periods
- Ability to adhere to job specifications and make top-class finishes in concrete work
