Job Summary
Concrete Finisher Foreman at GDOT SR 316 Bundle 2 in Athens, GA. Supervises and coordinates a crew of 3-15 construction employees daily, overseeing concrete operations in the assigned area. Responsible for reading specifications and plans to determine requirements, ensuring leveling and smoothing of edges and finishing surfaces of recently poured concrete structures, and marking/site layout to place structures or equipment. Oversees patches and repairs of rough or defective concrete surfaces, applies cementitious products and epoxy finishes, records operational data, and provides assistance to workers using hand tools. Maintains safety protocols, trains workers on company safety policies, and ensures adherence to procedures. The role involves scheduling and coordinating activities with other trades, inspecting progress and equipment for safety and specification compliance, and coordinating with project management, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project completion with quality workmanship.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years Construction Foreman experience preferred
- 5-8 years of verifiable construction experience required
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities; experience managing crews and subcontractors preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with crew members, project management, subcontractors, and vendors
- Ability to read and understand work plans
- Requires ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffold/ladder
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs; may be required to work in adverse weather conditions
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Good manual dexterity; standing, bending, kneeling or sitting for long periods
