Job Summary
Prepare and maintain equipment and hand tools daily. Operate overhead cranes and pneumatic equipment to transport and place fresh concrete. Use electric vibrators to consolidate concrete and apply required finishes with straight-edges, floats, rakes, shovels, trowels, and brooms. Work on industrial, commercial, and institutional projects as part of the finishing crew. This safety-sensitive role involves working at heights, in confined spaces, and around heavy equipment in a heavy manufacturing facility. Candidates may be required to work nights, weekends, and on an as-needed basis.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of formal apprenticeship or directly related experience
- Experience with batching, placing, finishing concrete, and operating overhead crane
- Thorough understanding of the characteristics of concrete
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to create, lay and use concrete forms
- Understanding of and ability to use tools related to concrete
- Ability to work well with others
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Must sign our standard confidentiality agreement as a condition of employment
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to work around heavy equipment
- Must be able to work under constantly changing circumstances
- Must be able to work at night
- Must be able to work on weekends on an as needed basis
- Must pass more stringent drug testing and compliance policies
