Job Summary
Concrete Finisher responsibilities include smoothing and finishing concrete surfaces to specified texture and depth, setting forms, edging, and bullfloating. Tasks include pouring/spreading concrete, using floats, removing defects with grinders or chisels, using straightedge/screed to finish surfaces, patching defects, applying curing mixes, installing reinforcement, forming joints, and ensuring accurate elevations. The role requires reporting to the Concrete Foreman with direction from the Site Foreman, collaborating with other trades on site, and participating in safety training. Out-of-town travel up to three weeks may be required, with a typical schedule of five ten-hour days. Reading and understanding measuring/leveling tools is necessary, as is the ability to follow directions, self-supervise when needed, and maintain a safe, productive work environment. A valid driving record, readiness for pre-employment drug screening, and adherence to safety protocols (OSHA 30 or higher) are required; occasional long hours and physically demanding tasks are expected.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED, or trade school certificate is preferred
- 5 years of concrete finishing experience or completion of apprenticeship program
- Ability to read understand measuring and leveling tools
- Must be able to follow direction
- Must have clean driving record
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening
- Must attend all mandatory safety meetings
- Must be over 18 to operate power-driven saws
- Must pass 30 Hour OSHA training/First Aid/CPR
- Must complete physical examination requirements
- Travel and out-of-town work may be required
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work out of town/out-of-state for durations
- Must be able to work in potentially extreme weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
