Concrete Finisher Apprentice & Journeyperson

Job Summary
Concrete Finisher Apprentices and Journeypersons finish concrete floors, driveways, sidewalks, curbs, bridge decks and other concrete structures. Responsibilities include placing wet concrete into forms, leveling and smoothing surfaces, applying architectural/exposed/stamped/broom finishes, repairing and restoring concrete surfaces, and mentoring apprentices while overseeing safety. Must be able to work in industrial construction settings, operate power tools, understand curing and epoxy materials, and comply with safety procedures; ability to work independently or in a team, and to pass standard pre-employment screenings. Fluency in English and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks (standing, bending, lifting up to 25 kg) in various weather conditions are required. A pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screen and/or criminal record check may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Fall Protection/Working at Heights - In class
- Experience as a Concrete Finisher in an industrial construction environment
- Knowledge of dry pack grout and epoxy materials, understand how to cure concrete, and proper use of power tools associated with the trade
- Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments
- Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies
- Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal
- Candidates may be required to complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screen and/or criminal record check
