Job Summary
Review plans and specs, solicit and negotiate prices from subcontractors and suppliers, and complete bid/estimating efforts including closeout. Perform quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping, and bidding of construction projects while communicating with architects and consultants to clarify scope, materials, and schedule requirements. Conduct reviews of milestone documents for value alternative opportunities, assist in internal estimate reviews and final assembly for owner presentation, and collect bid information post-bid. Aid field operations with change order pricing and direct subcontractors with necessary information and documents. Schedule: Monday to Friday 7am-3:30pm. Salary: $85,000 - $150,000.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or 3-5 years of equivalent experience required
- General knowledge of construction principles and processes
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
- General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes
- Working knowledge of estimating technology and tools such as OST, Plan Swift, CAD, and BIM related software
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Ekedal core values
- Maintains a 'value added' approach to estimating
