Job Summary
Receive guests and visitors, manage check-ins, and guide them to resident rooms. Answer the multi-line telephone, take messages with full details, and forward information to appropriate staff. Announce appointments and arrivals, type memos and correspondence, and sort mail for distribution. Maintain the front desk and lobby area, assemble admission packets, and provide tours with knowledge of community services and rates. Ensure confidentiality of resident information and model core values like respect and ownership. Perform any other duties assigned by the Business Office Manager or Executive Director, including non-professional tasks. Work week nights from 4pm to 7pm with a rotating weekend schedule at $16 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Prior experience in customer service
- Must be comfortable with a multi-line telephone system, answering, taking messages and transferring calls
- Good physical and mental health
- PPD screening
- Must have an interest in people, especially the geriatric population
- Ability to work without close supervision and to follow verbal and written instructions
- Must use tact and courtesy in dealing with staff, residents, their families and visitors
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees and outside contacts
- Must be willing to perform non-professional duties
- Must be level-headed in emergency situations and have an acute sense of responsibility
- Must possess a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm
- Must attend all mandatory company meetings and specified training sessions
- Must maintain confidentiality
