Job Summary
Conduct cash register sales by taking orders, building orders, and completing transactions while maintaining stock levels and communicating low stock to the manager. Prepare and serve beverages and food items, ensuring quality presentation and sanitation standards. Listen to and respond to customer requests or concerns, including verifying guest ID for alcohol service in accordance with state and federal regulations. Maintain a clean and organized workspace by disposing of garbage and cleaning dishes. This part-time role at the Rhode Island Convention Center & Amica Mutual Pavilion pays $22.14 per hour and is tip eligible per the collective bargaining agreement. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis with no deadline.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to maintain excellent attendance in accordance with the attendance policy
- Must check guest's ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify minimum age requirement for purchase of alcoholic beverages
- Maintains sanitation, health and safety standards in work areas
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Three or more months' experience in food service industry preferred
- Previous cash handling experience preferred
- Ability to learn to handle cash and learn to operate a cash register and corresponding system
- Excellent interpersonal skills & a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, managers, volunteers & guests
