Job Summary
The Concession Stand Manager oversees game day operations for the concessions stand and admissions table. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization of the gym kitchen, managing food stock levels, overseeing a volunteer list, and handling cash for concessions and entry fees. Candidates must have a minimum of a high school diploma, experience working with young adults, and prior retail or restaurant experience with cash handling. Skills required include strong communication, attention to detail, team player mentality, customer service focus, and basic accounting knowledge. The manager must adhere to Serve Safe Standards and complete necessary reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum of professional or volunteer experience working with young adults and community members
- Prior retail or restaurant with cash handling experience
- Knowledge of The Salvation Army programs, policies and procedures
- Detail oriented and attention to detail
- Self starter
- Team player
- Strong use of the English language in verbal and written communication
- Excellent telephone skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure
- Customer service mindset
- General accounting or bookkeeping knowledge
- Ability and willingness to keep information confidential
- Ability to set priorities and accept responsibility willingly
- Ability to exercise sound judgement
- Ability to recruit, lead and empower volunteers
- Ability to handle and count money such as concession and entry fees
- Ability to run a cash register, run register reports, log daily sales and chart concession trends
- Must complete and adhere to Protecting the Mission requirements and guidelines, including the ability to pass a TSA background check
