Job Summary
The Senior Designer and Developer is responsible for the assessment, design, and pricing of standard and connected lighting renovation projects. The role involves interaction with the sales force during the discovery phase and formal proposal phase. Candidates must effectively develop and lead client presentations, explaining different design options, system capabilities, benefits, costs, and associated savings. Responsibilities include creating detailed photometric designs, conducting on-site interviews, and evaluating lighting conditions before and after renovations. The position requires bilingual communication skills in English and French, over ten years of related experience, and familiarity with national electrical codes and various lighting standards.
Required Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent experience required
- Must possess or be working toward qualifications for related industrial certification
- Must be able to use CAD programs, word processing, and spreadsheet software
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with peers, customers, and management
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to climb ladders and occasionally stand/walk for extended periods
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual - English and French spoken and written
- Over ten years of relevant experience
- Five years of experience in designing connected/networked lighting projects preferred
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code
- General knowledge of lighting and electrical installations, including circuits, load and voltage
- Excellent lighting fixture recognition skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to access high-security facilities
