Job Summary
CT Scan Technologist provides diagnostic Computed Tomography services to inpatients, outpatients and Emergency Department patients under direction of the radiologist. Performs CT scans and reformations according to protocols, gathers pertinent patient history for exam interpretation, ensures documentation for records and billing, and adheres to safety standards. Requires ARRT registry and IEMA license with CPR within 3 months of hire; must attain advanced CT certification within 1 year. Responsibilities include patient care with strong communication, computer proficiency, familiarity with CT procedures and equipment (e.g., power injector), and flexible scheduling to meet departmental demands; role involves exposure to radiation and hazardous chemicals and adherence to radiation safety. Located at Advocate Christ Medical Center (Oak Lawn, IL) with full-time hours, rotating weekends and on-call considerations. Required Qualifications
- ARRT registry
- IEMA license
- CPR certification within 3 months of hire
- Basic knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and basic CT procedures
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Computer competence
- Ability to show equipment skill competence (eg. power injector)
- Must pass advanced CT certification within 1 year of hire
- Ability to be flexible in starting times to meet departmental demands
- Ability to practice high quality patient care with very good communication skills
- Ability to make independent professional decisions using good judgement skills
- Ability to function independently with minimal assistance in performing job duties
- Attends education and safety in-services and completes safety modules
- Exposure to hazardous chemicals and radiation safety guidelines
