Job Summary

Configure computers for CLIU #21 Intranet and Internet networks, installing new hardware, peripherals, and network components as required. Troubleshoot network, computer, and peripheral problems while providing remote and on-site software and hardware support to CLIU #21 personnel and district libraries. Consult with users to determine specifications, research technical documentation, and manage vendor relationships for software and workstation items. Implement workstation security, maintain warranties and maintenance contracts, and assist with bid specifications and service contracts. Work collaboratively with district Technology Coordinators to ensure system functionality and support.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent related field or equivalent related professional experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years in support of PC workstations, software, and peripherals in a local and wide area network environment
  • Experience working in an academic environment, preferred
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
  • Demonstrates knowledge of network-based applications software, including Microsoft office and Microsoft Applications
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Windows Policy Editor and Related Utilities
  • Demonstrates knowledge of IPX, TCP/IP, local and wide area networks, Windows, Apple, Linux, and Google OS
  • Demonstrates a proficient understanding and utilization of Microsoft Office Suite and other software packages for use in the MIS Department
  • Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain complete confidentiality
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated by patience, understanding, and congeniality
  • Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and time management skills, providing for productivity, accuracy, and attention to detail in the carrying out of all duties, tasks, and responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize assigned tasks
  • Completes tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently and maintain departmental deadlines
  • Demonstrates the ability to make professional decisions

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, reach, communicate (vision, hearing, and speech), and carry or convey sufficient weight to safely and effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilities
  • Ability to independently ambulate in and around work areas
  • Ability to travel to and from assigned work locations without employer support
  • Ability to travel on and/or drive a CLIU #21 vehicle
  • Ability to exhibit appropriate manual dexterity to effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilities
