Computer Support Specialist

Job Summary
Provide technical support via phone, email, remote assistance, and in-person visits to U-Haul Manufacturing and Assembly plants. Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows desktops, laptops, and mobile devices while managing Microsoft 365 applications, Active Directory, and hardware peripherals. Diagnose network connectivity issues, maintain IT asset inventory, and respond to onsite service requests requiring hands-on resolution. Collaborate with other IT teams for specialized support and participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call rotations. This onsite role requires a valid driver's license, frequent travel between locations, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Two (2) or more years of desktop support, technical support, or IT field support experience
- Strong working knowledge of: Windows 11
- Strong working knowledge of: Microsoft 365
- Strong working knowledge of: Active Directory
- Strong working knowledge of: Computer hardware troubleshooting
- Strong working knowledge of: Printers and peripherals
- Strong working knowledge of: Basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience supporting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and related hardware
- Experience working in manufacturing, warehouse, or multi-site support environments is a plus
- Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel regularly between U-Haul Technical Center, Manufacturing, and Assembly plant locations
- Ability to work independently while managing a field support schedule
- Physical Requirements Lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to crawl under desks and install computer equipment
- Stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods
- Ability to safely climb ladders and work at elevated heights when installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting IT equipment
- Frequent travel between U-Haul Technical Center, Manufacturing, and Assembly plants
- Ability to safely transport and install IT equipment at multiple locations
- Occasional evening or weekend work for equipment deployments, upgrades, maintenance activities, emergency support, or project implementations
- Fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and customer interactions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in manufacturing, warehouse, or multi-site support environments is a plus
