Job Summary
Support Specialist for the Public Safety Technology Division responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and support of mission-critical systems. Includes mobile data terminals (MDTs), in-car camera systems, and mobile broadband; manage Criminal Databases/Systems used in crime prevention or investigation; respond to help desk tickets and on-site requests; participate in incident response and service restoration; perform routine system maintenance, updates, and patches; document incidents and procedures in the ticketing system; maintain inventory and asset tagging for compliance; may perform other duties as assigned. Requires a baccalaureate or associate degree in Computer/Information Technology with 1 year of professional IT experience or 3 years of IT training/experience; proficiency with Microsoft Office, SQL, SharePoint; knowledge of Windows and Mac OS; ability to support Android and iOS; strong multitasking and time-management; able to lift up to 75 pounds and climb a ladder; available for on-call, overtime, and emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree or associates degree in a Computer/Information Technology related field plus one year of professional level experience in information technology; or 3 years of experience and/or training in information technology/computer networking
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SQL and/or SharePoint
- Knowledge of various Windows operating systems. Knowledge of Mac OS a plus.
- Ability to resolve issues with both Android and iOS mobile operating systems.
- Must be a self-starter, organized, detailed oriented, and able to complete task independently with little guidance.
- Must be able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently. Must have the ability to manage several projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to respond to callouts for routine as well as emergency situations and natural disasters.
- Must be able to lift equipment and supplies up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to climb a ladder up to 12 feet. Must be capable of working on the ground, in ceiling, vehicles, or non-office space locations in odd positions to install/troubleshoot cabling or equipment.
