Job Summary
Facilitate a rigorous Computer Science curriculum covering Game Design, IoT, Cloud Computing, and Web & Digital Communications through hands-on lab activities and project-based learning. Assess student progress via developmental testing and industry-recognized technical skill evaluations while managing assigned equipment, software, and supplies. Sponsor co-curricular Future Business Leaders of America and Technology Student Association experiences to support leadership development and workforce readiness. Maintain professional development competence through ongoing training and establish industry connections to encourage student participation in continuing education. Engage with the local school CTAE Advisory Committee and document minutes for curriculum support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Level 4 or higher Professional Teaching Certificate or Permit (except JROTC) at the 6-12 or P-12 level and the Computer Science Endorsement
- Computer Science P-12
- Engineering and Technology P-12
- Computer Science endorsement
- Makes recommendations or decisions which usually affect the entire department/school
- Requires regular, frequent contact with internal stakeholders and decision-making responsibility
- Requires regular, frequent contact with parents, state and community leaders and decision-making responsibility
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Normal classroom/school setting
- Will require travel for off-site training and student exposure opportunities
- Light duty - On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying; twenty (20) lbs. or less; routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience in the field
