Job Summary
Student Trainee to support Weather Systems Software for the FAA NAS ESS contract. Responsibilities include researching, maintaining, testing, updating, and documenting weather system software; coordinating and editing technical reports/drawings; supporting modernization and hardware/software development; performing market research and evaluating needs for updating end-of-life hardware; identifying needs and driving development of major processes; coding in C, C++, and Python; assisting with lab activities and software development for lab hardware; configuring system devices/hardware; effectively communicating in a team environment. Education: pursuing a BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. On-site work in Oklahoma City, with FAA background check required. UNIX/Linux proficiency and experience with Matlab/Simulink are expected; willingness to work full-time in summer and part-time during the school year.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Pursuing a B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
- Willing to work full time during the summer and continue part-time during the school semester
- Proficiency with UNIX and UNIX-like Operating Systems (AIX, Linux)
- Proficiency with programming languages and scripts (C, C++, Python)
- Experience working in a team environment
- Experience authoring technical documentation and providing technical support
- Ability to pass an FAA background investigation
- Must be local to the OKC area
