Job Summary
Provide entry to intermediate level monitoring and support for operating equipment, conducting analysis of systems and servers pertaining to host systems, middleware, applications, and existing tools. Monitor logical security using established tools and procedures, and gain hands-on experience identifying and resolving network technology issues associated with IP network devices and backbone transports. Effectively carry out, verify, and restore predefined processes in operational checklists to guarantee successful completion of draw processing, day-end processing, system balancing, file system maintenance, change requests, report/file transfers, and messaging. Coordinate, carry out, verify, and address internal and external customer requests in accordance with established guidelines, while submitting recommendations to create and maintain operational procedures and checklists. This Night Shift role (7pm-7am) is based in West Greenwich, RI, supporting Brightstar's global lottery operations and gaming solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Two-year college degree or zero to two years of experience
- Must have some basic knowledge of multiple operating systems and applications (network, system, and servers) in order to perform entry level troubleshooting of systems and servers related to host systems, middleware, applications, and existing tools according to established procedures with minimal supervision
- Must be able to perform entry level troubleshooting of systems and servers related to host systems, middleware, applications, and existing tools according to established procedures under supervision
- Must be able to perform entry level network monitoring and troubleshooting by confirming tool set availability, using tools for verification of services, and detecting, reporting, escalating, and documenting anomalies according to established procedures
- Must be able to monitor logical security through the use of established tools and procedures
- Must be able to conduct intermediate level analysis of systems and servers pertaining to host systems, middleware, applications, and existing tools
- Must be able to provide entry to intermediate level monitoring and support for operating equipment for one or more jurisdictions, ensuring flawless operations 24/7
- Must be available for Night Shift - 7pm-7am
- Must be able to effectively carry out, verify, and restore predefined processes in the operational checklists to guarantee the successful completion of draw processing, day-end processing, system balancing, file system maintenance, change requests, report/file transfers and deliveries, messaging and jackpot details, system locations/configurations, and internal/external customer requests
- Must be able to coordinate, carry out, verify, monitor, follow up on, and address internal and external customer requests in accordance with established guidelines
- Must be able to submit recommendations to create and maintain operational procedures and checklists
- Must be able to identify and resolve network technology issues associated with IP network devices and backbone transports
