Job Summary
Motivate and supervise assigned staff through performance coaching, career counseling, and conflict resolution while organizing services to meet established goals. Coordinate with the Branch Manager and other departments to align with District objectives, develop operational goals, and monitor key reporting metrics for quality outcomes. Handle customer service issues, maintain confidential files, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Monitor emerging trends in library administration to recommend future strategies and adapt to changing needs. Foster positive community relationships and oversee branch projects, programs, and committees. Requires PIC training completion within six months and current AED/CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Two (2) years' experience training and/or instructing users on personal computers and software operations
- At least one (1) year in a lead or supervisory role
- Completion of Library District's Apprentice Person-In-Charge (APIC) training
- Prior completion of Las Vegas-Clark County Library District's Person-in-Charge (PIC) Training or completion of core PIC Training within six (6) months of assuming the position
- District-provided AED/CPR certification completed within six (6) months of assuming the position and maintained (current) while in a covered position
- Knowledge of effective supervisory principles and methods
- Knowledge of report and record-keeping principles and procedures
- Ability to perform basic accounting
- Ability to handle stressful situations with professional composure
- Tasks may involve frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, stooping, and some lifting and carrying of objects of moderate weight (20-50 pounds)
