Computer Field Technician

Job Summary
Field technician role performing on-site hardware repairs and installations for laptops and desktops. Based out of Bloomington, IN with territory work across multiple sites; 1099/per-call contract with pay starting at $35 per call and increasing based on distance traveled. Requires hands-on experience replacing components, reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, ability to travel locally, access to a computer and Internet to log into a portal, and attendance for onboarding certifications from Dell and Lenovo. Daily duties include visiting customer sites (residential and commercial), coordinating service times in the portal, picking up parts from FedEx/UPS, and mapping routes each morning. Tickets are issued for daytime work, with 2-3 calls per day typical, and a requirement to be available at least 3 weekdays. EEO-compliant and confidential handling of information.
Required Qualifications
- Must have prior hands on experience with replacing components on laptops and desktops
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must have access to a computer and Internet to log onto portal
- Must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays
- Must be available to log into tech portal by 9 am to map out route for the day
- Must be comfortable with daily local travel
- 1099/per call position; pay-driven by calls completed; certifications from Dell and Lenovo on onboarding
