Job Summary
Act as a Certified Surgical Technician under the direction of a Registered Nurse, scrubbing for surgeries across robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases, and trauma. Deliver patient care before, during, and after surgery while making calls, multitasking, and working independently. Requires alternating weekends, holidays, and call coverage with a day shift from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. This role supports RWJBarnabas Health's mission to provide high-quality academic medicine and improve community health through innovative strategies in patient care and education.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an OR Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Ability to make calls
- Flexibility
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician
- NBSTSA Certification
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- Availability for 7:00 am – 3:00 pm shift
- Full Time employment
- Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage
