Job Summary
Conduct surgical support before, during, and after procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse, scrubbing service lines including robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases, and trauma. Maintain strong communication skills, make necessary calls, and independently multitask while adhering to a 7:00 am – 3:00 pm day shift with alternating weekends, holidays, and call coverage. This role is part of RWJBarnabas Health's surgical team, contributing to patient-centered care and advancing innovative strategies in high-quality patient care, education, and research within New Jersey.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an OR Technician training program
- 2 – 3 years of experience
- Strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written)
- Ability to make calls
- Flexibility
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to work independently
- Certified Surgical Technician
- NBSTSA Certification
- Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification with American Heart Association
- Must be available for 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
- Must be available for alternating weekends
- Must be available for holidays
- Must be available for call coverage
