Job Summary
Under the supervision of a Radiologist, explain exams and position patients to capture quality diagnostic images while administering IV/oral contrast according to policy. Operate department-specific equipment, recognize malfunctions, and follow maintenance protocols to minimize downtime. Utilize proper positioning techniques to maximize image quality and assist physicians with special image-guided procedures, ensuring sterile technique and accurate documentation. Communicate effectively with patients of all ages, demonstrate compassion, and perform IV injections safely. Provide technical coverage 24 hours a day, seven days per week as needed, while maintaining licensure as a Licensed Radiographer in Wisconsin and A.R.R.T. registration.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree: Graduate of an accredited certification program in Radiologic Technology
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to read, write, hear, speak, and comprehend the English language fluently
- Licensure to be eligible to practice as a Licensed Radiographer in the State of Wisconsin
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) registered in Radiography
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (A.R.R.T.) – CT (preferred or required within 1 year of hire)
- Current BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or the ability to obtain certification within 6 weeks of hire
